As we start to bring on fall, I thought it would be fun to say goodbye to summer with one more adventure staring the XV Crosstrek! It just so happens that we are having one of the hottest Septembers EVER so I am not apposed to holding on to summer a little bit longer! For our final summer adventure I took the all-new Subaru XV Crosstrek just east to the Rail Yard Wake Park  in Mount Albert. I also brought along a few characters for the day to show me the ropes in all things cable park wake boarding!

It just so happened that the Wednesday that we picked turned out to be perfection; don’t you love it when that happens?! With our Subie loaded up the with riding gear we headed out the Rail Yard for our day in the sunshine. It was my first time at the Rail Yard, so I was glad to be with one of their “regulars”. If you have never been to a cable park before, picture a perfect man made lake filled with rails, kickers and of course wake boarders! During the fall months the Rail Yard is open 12-7 for ride-all-you-can, which means exactly what it sounds like, non stop riding all day! It all depends on who has booked in the day; who knows the park could be all yours.

Something that I noticed about hanging out with a crew of wake boarders for the day was the awesome atmosphere. Everyone is supportive weather you are just learning or trying to master your next trick, and I think some people could learn a thing or to from these positive guys. I am not going to lie I was a bit nervous to be surrounded by these highly skilled boarders, especially since I haven’t been on a board in 2 years, but after being there I felt comfortable, but wishing I brought my board! Just means I will have to go back!

I loved taking the XV Crosstrek on this adventure! With its 8.7 inches of ground clearance and symmetrical all-wheel drive it was the perfect ride to tackle any terrain that we came across. Another great feature of the XV was 60/40-split fold-down rear seats, because you know, wake boards are bigger then they look! With XV Crosstrek I got to test out the Subaru touch screen, and let me tell you it was awesome! For sure one of the more user-friendlier in-car tech that I have used, which was a pleasant surprise. Over all the Crosstrek was basically made for adventures and I was happy to squeeze one more summer road trip in!
