2014 Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne Edition Pickup Review
Chevrolet uncovered the new concept of the Cheyenne trim level for the Silverado this week.
The Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne Edition was shown with a 6.2L V8 offering 420 horsepower and is almost 100kg lighter than any other Silverado currently in production. Chevrolet has been able to achieve such a light truck by replacing the steel tailgate and bumpers with carbon fiber and using the lighter performance brakes off the Camaro Z/28.
“Light-weighting is a time-honored method of making the most of a vehicle’s performance which Chevrolet has demonstrated time and again with vehicles like the original 2001 Corvette Z06 and the 2014 Camaro Z/28,” says Chris Perry of Chevrolet in a statement. “And like those vehicles, the Cheyenne complements its lower weight with more horsepower.”
The Silverado Cheyenne offers a completely redesigned interior with performance bucket seats and carbon fiber trim. USA Todays was quick to realize the equation behind the new high performance Silverado “Simple formula: Combine the light-weighting with a big honkin’ V-8 engine and it clear this truck can be plenty quick”
Unfortunately Chevrolet has not announced a release date for this truck but with Chevrolet currently using the all the weight saving technology and performance parts on other model there is nothing to stop this truck from being on the showroom floor in the 2014 year.
This high performance light weight truck proves the engineers at Chevrolet are continuing to find new roads and create the ultimate driving experience.
