2015 Chevrolet Colorado Preview
This morning was an exciting morning as Chevrolet confirmed the upcoming Colorado midsize pickup will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Specifically, the first chance public will have to view the truck will be during the shows press day held on November 20th.
With all the much anticipated commotion surrounding the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and its High Country and Texas Edition editions, everybody seems to have forgotten the next-generation Chevrolet mid-sized truck currently known as the Colorado as rumors currently hint at a new name. With today’s press release we can dissolve the rumor as to how long we need to wait as the truck will be unveiled next week with all the details including an availability date sometime in the 2014 calendar year.
From the looks of current spy shoots, the new midsize Chevy truck will hold visual similarities to the 2014 Silverado but remain unmistakably unique, with a boxy nose and dual-port grille, while the interior and powertrain options remain a mystery until the debut but rumors are hinting at a diesel option being available as well as a 4.3L V6 gas engine. Based on reports, this new truck will offer impressive fuel economy numbers.
The 2015 Colorado will depict the final phase of Chevrolet’s “three-truck” strategy that will include the Silverado HD and the Silverado 1500 on the bigger side of the pick-up scale. Production of the truck is slated to begin next year at General Motors’s Wentzville, Mo. assembly plant. We will post the confirmed details of this truck next week.
