2017 NewRoads Children’s Dream Charity Golf Tournament
Great golf and giving back at the 2017 NewRoads Children’s Dream Charity Golf Tournament
Golf has a long-standing history of giving back to our local York Region communities. Great golf and giving back all begins with patience for the game, sportsmanship, and the love of the outdoors. This incredible game of golf continues with thousands of dollars raised annually for charities across the country.
On August the 18th, 2017 the NewRoads Automotive Group enjoyed their 5th year as presenting sponsor of the NewRoads Children’s Dream Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament was a tremendous success and we are proud to announce a $200,000 donation from the tournament to the Newmarket Outdoor Arena fundraising project!
This is the foundations most ambitious fundraising project ever – a new, permanent year-round Outdoor Arena – a first for Newmarket. The Outdoor Arena will provide opportunities for children and youth of all ages, abilities, and economic backgrounds to be physically active and engaged in sports and recreational activities all year long.
We are proud of our Newmarket Community and support the efforts of the Newmarket Children’s Dream Foundation. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to build or significantly revitalize children’s playgrounds within areas of our community that lack parkland, outdoor recreation areas, and where the residents have little or no capacity to raise funds themselves.
The Lebovic Foundation provided a new location the Lebovic Golf Club for the event this year, giving not only a nice golf course to play but an incredible generous donation as well. Finally, we would like to thank Brian and Connor McDavid for their continuing to support the tournament and the Outdoor Arena.
The tournament is such a big success because so many people and businesses from our community sponsor, volunteer, and attend year after year. “This little tournament is an amazing example of how our community will step up time and time again to make great things happen.” John Taylor Regional Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Newmarket said.
Thank you to all who attended, the sponsors and volunteers, who made this incredible day a success!
