Airbag Check

Check Airbag Light Help

One of the most important safety features of your vehicle are the airbags. Considering they can help to save someone’s life in the event of an accident, it’s crucial that they are working at all times when you’re driving. Below are some tests you can do to ensure that your airbags are working properly.

The simplest test is the airbag diagnostic test. This checks to see if circuits and sensors of the airbag are functioning properly. If there is a problem, a light will flash and give you the specific issue with the airbag.

When there is an issue with an airbag a flash will occur. Look closely and count the number of flashes that occur before and after a pause to determine the code you need. Each number refers to a different code, which refers to a specific problem with the airbag. For example, if you see one flash, a pause, and then three flashes, your code would be 13.

After the test has been run and the problem has been fixed you’ll most likely need a professional to reset the airbag light. This should not take long and will ensure that you always know when your airbag isn’t working.
