2013 Cadillac ATS | AJAC Best New Luxury Car

AJAC Best New Luxury Car - 2013 Cadillac ATS

Niagara Falls, Ontario (Thursday, October 25, 2012) – Cadillac was honoured today by the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), which named the 2013 Cadillac ATS the Best New Luxury Car after rigorous back-to-back testing against its most fierce competitors.

“This award confirms the all-new ATS was designed and built to compete and win in the compact luxury segment,” said Neil Macdonald, vice president of corporate affairs at GM Canada. “This recognition by over 80 of Canada’s top automotive media is testament to Cadillac setting the standard of the world for luxury cars.”

This award for the Cadillac ATS results from recent back-to-back driving evaluations of 60 new vehicles at the AJAC Test Fest event which is the foundation of the Canadian Car of the Year Awards (CCOTY) program.  Over 80 of Canada’s top automotive journalists judged this year’s competition which aims to provide consumers with sound, comparative information on new vehicles.

The all-new 2013 Cadillac ATS compact luxury sports sedan is the brand’s entry into the world’s most significant luxury car segment.  Its sophisticated driving experience is enhanced with Cadillac CUE, a comprehensive, in-vehicle user experience that merges intuitive design with industry-first controls and commands for information and media data.

Developed on an all-new, lightweight rear-drive architecture, the ATS reflects a new expression of Cadillac’s Art & Science execution philosophy, centered on a foundation of driving dynamics and mass efficiency.  It is the most agile and lightweight Cadillac, with one of the lowest curb weights in the segment – less than 3,400 pounds (1,542 kg).  All-wheel drive is available. Germany ’s famed Nürburgring served as one of the key testing grounds, along with additional roads, race tracks and laboratories around the globe, where ATS engineers balanced performance with Cadillac’s trademark refinement.
