Portraits of Giving Honours Michael Croxon and Coach Kirk Kelly

For the past 10 years, Portraits of Giving has been creating awareness and inspiring communities across York Region about the importance of social responsibility, while inspiring others to “keep on giving.”

On Wednesday, April 25th 2019 the NewRoads Automotive Group honoured our President and CEO Michael Croxon and Newmarket Minor Hockey Associations Coach Kirk Kelly for their leadership and ability to be role models for giving back in our community.

“just start with a initiative. If you are an employer, take up a cause close to your heart and involve your team; you will be in awe of what you receive in return.” – Michael Croxon.

All of us at the NewRoads Automotive Group we are proud to be part of a community who cares and supports one another.  When our three hundred and eight six associates come together for a cause we become a family, active and united ready to support our community.

We were humbled by the words of our second Honouree celebrated alongside Michael Croxon, Coach Kelly.  Kirk Kelly volunteered with the NMHA for more than 30 years, serving in the role of coach, coach mentor, hockey development lead, coach-at-large, trainer-at-large, vice-president of house league, and most recently, interim president of the association.  He said “He never found it to be a burden in anyway and the learnings the kids received were meant to help them in the daily lives.”  He is very proud of the kids he coached and admired his own family for their support during his illness and his career.

A total of fourteen individuals from across York Region who exemplify the importance of corporate and social responsibility will be honoured this year including…

Life Time Giver: Rosalyn Gonsalves, Michael Croxon, Benny Soscia  Tina Tehranchian, Kelly and Mike Foley, Eric Tappenden, Daniella Hofmann, Gary and Gina Semeniuk,  Patrick Leblanc,  Anita Smeskal-Donato,  York Regional Police: Deputy Chief Thomas Carrique,  York Region Fire Services: Vaughan Fire Chief Deryn Rizzi, Coach Kirk Kelly, and Lauren Castelino.

If is truly amazing the magic that can happen when you have a leader willing to step up and support a cause that is close to your heart.  That is what being a leader all is about and for that we say thank you.
