Tips for Saving Money on Tires

Cost saving tips for vehicle tires

There’s no question that driving on worn tires is unsafe and causes poor fuel economy. However, purchasing new tires can become expensive, so read below for some tips and how to save money and make your current set of rubber last longer.
Arguably, the best way to prolong the life of your tires is to get a wheel alignment done both when you install your new set of tires, and once a year thereafter. This will help them wear evenly, increase your fuel economy and help your tires last longer.
Secondly, be sure to rotate your tires.  Since on most vehicles, your front tires wear out quicker than the rear, not rotating them will cause premature wear. Most tire manufactures recommend to rotate them every 10,000 kms.  If you already rotate your tires regularly,  keep it up!  You know it makes a difference.
Finally, shop around and look at some reviews online before making a purchase. Just because the bigger brands are more popular due to advertising, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re higher quality. Do your research and make an informed decision when purchasing tires.
