Top 5 Fall Road Trip Destinations in Ontario

With the weather cooling down and the leaves changing colour, it’s the perfect time to go on a road trip before the snow arrives.
Fortunately, there are a number of beautiful and scenic destinations throughout the province that are perfect for weekend getaways, so you won’t have to look far to find a suitable trip for you and your significant other.
Here are five of the top autumn road trip destinations around Ontario:
Tobermory
Head on down to the Bruce Peninsula if you’re interested in escaping the busy city for a few days.  Spend a day exploring the caves, hiking, or enjoying a nice picnic by the water. If you’re looking for a nice restaurant at nighttime, you should find plenty of suitable dinner options nearby.
If you’re looking for a nice place to say, many past tourists have had nothing but good things to say about the Princess Hotel.
1,000 Islands
If you’re more focused on planning a romantic getaway, check out the 1000 Islands in Gananoque. There are a number of resorts and inns in the area, so you should have no issue finding an affordable option for two.
Whatever you do, make sure to check out the 1000 Islands Tower if you’re not too afraid of heights. It’s a sight to behold.
Hamilton Falls
If you’re looking for a great scenic spot, you can’t go wrong with Dundas Peak. Dundas Peak is one of several beautiful waterfalls located in the Hamilton region. The waterfalls may not be worthy of an entire weekend getaway, they are perfect for anyone looking for a fun day trip.
While Dundas Peak is largely considered the nicest waterfall, Tews Falls is actually the tallest in the area, standing at an incredible 41-meters high.
Forks of the Credit
If hiking is your thing, grab your boots and head on down to Forks of the Credit Provincial Park. Located in Caledon, Forks of the Credit features some of the most breathtaking trails in the province. If you’re not much of a hiker, you can always bring your bike to check out some of the beautiful scenery.
As an added bonus, you should have no problem capturing a mesmerizing photo for your next Instagram post.
Prince Edward County
Few places in Ontario are as breathtaking as Prince Edward County in the fall. If you’re looking to do something during the day, there are a number of events taking place in the area throughout the month of November. If none of those tickle your fancy, you may be interested in going on a tour at one of the local wineries.
Most of the area’s tourists typically arrive in the summer, so you won’t have to worry about large crowds if you happen to travel to Prince Edward County in the coming weeks.
