WCYR – Dream Halloween – A NewRoads New Board Member Appointment

Women's Centre of York Region

One of our own is setting her sights on making a difference in York Region!
During the planning stages for NewRoads Girl’s Night Out the WCYR Executive Director Kirsten Eastwood suggested our very own Kelly Broome-Plumley join The Women’s Centre of York Region and take a seat on their Board Of Directors. After many discussions and a full interview with the current Chair Alicia Lauzon, Kelly was offered and accepted the position. Kelly’s area of focus is Fund Development, Community Engagement and Marketing. She will also spend time building relationships between Charities and encourage Team efforts. Her first Board of Director meeting was Thursday April 19th.

Dream Halloween York Region

Kelly’s 1st project with WCYR:
On Friday, April 13th six regional charities have joined forces to create the 1st Annual Dream Halloween – An Evening of Philanthropy event benefiting York Region residents supported by the Alzheimer Society of York Region, Big Brothers Big Sisters of York, Character Community Foundation of York Region, Doane House Hospice, Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers and the Women’s Centre of York Region. This collaborative effort is a wonderful representation of charities working together to expand their outreach and meet the needs of many at-risk groups within our community.
Dream Halloween is a unique fundraising experience that brings together leaders from our community to help several charities at once. It is a salute to the selflessness and tireless dedication of those individuals who profoundly impact the quality of life and fabric of York Region.
