Recapping Women’s Month

As most of you know March was Women’s month and due to covid-19 we pushed our celebrations to virtual stage. This year, we were lucky enough to attend two events, our own event Women of Excellence in collaboration with the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce and Wonder Woman: Woman in Business Conference hosted by the Easy Gwillimbury chamber of commerce.

Over the past years at NewRoads Automotive Group we have put on an International Women’s Day event & this year was no different (other then it being virtual)! We still wanted to honour the women in our lives & in our community. So, on March 9th we welcomed MPP Christine Elliott & Melissa Maker as our keynote speakers via Zoom! They filled us with words of encouragement and inspiration & even though were weren’t together physically you could feel the positive energy.

A special treat to the day was a delicious celebration package with snacks from A Million Mouthfuls Catering and Event Management that was delivered to each attendee.

We had the privilege of awarding our annual Women of Excellence Award to Maria Ciarlandini for the community work that she does for Vince’s Market! There were so many incredible women from our community nominated & we are so proud of each and everyone of them! Thanks to our amazing sponsors; The Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, NewRoads Automotive Group, RBC Royal Bank, Upper Canada Mall & York Small Business Enterprise Centre we were able to Dontae 100% of our ticket sales to the Women’s Center of York region, raising just over $10,000!

On March 26th we had the pleasure of spending the day, virtually of course with the East Gwillimbury Chamber of Commerce at the Wonder Women: Woman in Business Conference! It was a really fun day with different seminars hosted by industry experts as well as Keynote speaker Nicole Servinis! We also got to have a 1-1 networking hour, which was really nice way to connect with some of the attendees! Each guest was also provided a swag box filled with goodies! It was the prefect way to end Women’s Month!
