Do I have to Change my Cabin Air Filter?
One of the most commonly neglected maintenance checks is the cabin air filter in your vehicle. Your filter helps stop dust, mold and bacteria from getting inside the interior of your car. Naturally, it’s important to change your cabin filter regularly.
Experts recommend changing your cabin filter every year or about every 20,000-25,000 kms. If you’re having trouble locating your filter consult your owner’s manual, but it’s usually found in the air intake or under the glove compartment.
Removing the filter is fairly simple but it depends on the vehicle. If it’s in the air intake you’ll have to remove the intake screen first before replacing the filter. If the filter is found under the glove compartment you’ll probably have to use a screw driver to get it out. If you’re unsure, consult your owner’s manual or stop by your dealership’s service department.
