Camaro Cruisin’ in Kleinburg
Tis the season, AM I RIGHT!? With Black Friday and the holidays upon us things are getting real. So how about a mini escape – a small adventure, if you will? We have the perfect place to embrace that “Tis the Season” feeling without getting overwhelmed – it’s still November after all. Just minutes down the highway and a tiny bit west of Hwy 400 we took the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro to the beautiful town of Kleinburg. As you know I’ve lived in York Region and the Toronto area my entire life, but this is the first time I’ve been to this magical place. Apparently I’ve been living under a rock.
Kleinburg is the most picturesque town I think I have ever visited. It felt like I had stepped onto the set of aHallmark Channel holiday movie (don’t pretend you don’t know what I am talking about). We started off our adventure with a quick visit to the McMichael Gallery grounds. This gallery is the home to many Group of 7 pieces, but it is also home to some great outdoor space! Beautiful birch trees and stunning woodlands were just waiting for us to discover. Lucky enough for us we had the perfect weather for a walk!
Next, we headed to Kleinburg’s Main Street, where the charm factor of this town is off the charts. With it’s classic architecture and unique character lining the streets, the local Starbucks looks anything but a corporate chain (what’s a town these days with out a Starbucks). I fell in love with the closed down general store on the main strip – it’s meant for a movie set.
When I was telling people that I was going to this marvellous town everyone kept mentioning the Doctor’s house. Obviously, at first I had no idea what this place was. Was it a restaurant? Was it a house? I went to investigate and I was greeted with a stunning event space! A quaint church and a beautiful garden were tucked behind the main building. All I could think was: “Alice and wonderland called, they want their garden back.” On top of an already charming town we add of the fact that the holidays are coming. Kleinburg was decked out in wreaths, and lights that scream holiday spirit.
The 2015 Chevy Camaro was the perfect ride for our trip. It comfortably fit 2 people, and if the weather was a bit warmer we would have gone-top-down, but it’s November here in Canada, so you know. The Camaro looked right at home in this neighbourhood, perhaps one of the more stylish muscle cars. Packed with amazing features like a back up camera, OnStar, Bluetooth and Chevrolet MyLink Radio its safe to say, I didn’t want to leave the car or the town!
