Child Safety on the Road
If you’re a parent, you care about the safety of your child more than anything else. Therefore, it’s important that you do everything in your power to make sure your vehicle is as safe as possible for your children. Here are some tips for maximizing your child safety for your car.
Maybe the biggest thing you can do to ensure that your child is as safe as possible is to make sure they never drive in the front seat with you. Even if the trip is for a short distance, they should still be in a child seat in the back. Even a minor collision is enough to cause a fatality because they are not big enough to handle the impact of the airbag.
It’s a lot safer to choose a car seat that fits well with your vehicle. This will allow the baby to be strapped in better and prevent them from getting jolted around if you stop quickly or make a sharp turn.
Finally, you should have infant children facing the rear until they are big enough to face forward. Most forward-facing car seats require the child to be between 20-30 lbs at a minimum, so remember not to rush them into a new seat.
