Distracted Driving | Car Tips
For most people, the biggest risk they take every day is stepping into a vehicle. Distracted driving is one of the most common reasons accidents occur, which is why you should always keep your eyes on the road and avoid some of the bad habits listed below.
You should avoid eating and drinking while driving whenever possible. Hot drinks can fall on you and greasy hands will give you less control of the wheel.
Although you always want to make sure your kids are safe, try to avoid paying too much attention to them behind the wheel. Instead of disciplining your children while you’re driving, pull over so everyone can be safer.
Make sure you aren’t driving if you’re drowsy. Drink a coffee or caffeinated beverage before you get behind the wheel or find another way to get to your destination. Driving while tired is one of the most common reasons why people get into accidents, so don’t let it be you.
Finally, anything illegal such as texting while driving or talking on your cell phone should obviously be avoided. Not only can you be fined if caught, but you are putting yourself and everyone around you at risk when you text and drive.
