Doane House Hike for Hospice

Doane House Hike for Hospice

Thank you to all of those who came out on Sunday, May 5, 2013 and participated in the annual Hike for Hospice at beautiful Fairy Lake, Newmarket.  The Hike for Hospice Palliative Care is a national event that takes place on the first Sunday in May where people across Canada gather pledges and Hike to raise funds and public awareness for hospice palliative care.

This year, NewRoads employees hiked together with hundreds of members of the community, along with a number of clients, volunteers, family and friends.  From the volunteers in the registration area, the face painters , the lunch helpers, students, and sponsors – it truly was a team effort to make the day such a success.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous and it was the perfect day for a walk along the Fairy Lake Trail.   People`s spirits were high as walked the trail with pride and shared their stories of loved ones who have passed away.  The hike was a beautiful symbol of the community’s love for those who suffer, and there was a feeling of honour that marched alongside all of the participants. It was a fantastic experience for all of us here at NewRoads and we are so happy to have shared with such a compassionate group of people.

Congratulations to The Doane House Hospice team on an amazing event and we look forward to working with you again later on this year.  Stay connected with Doane House Hospice or Find NewRoads for a chance to win a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze from NewRoads Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC in support of this amazing organization.
