Getting rid of bad odours in your Vehicle
If you’ve just discovered a funky smell in your car, chances are you’ll want to get rid of it as soon as possible. While you can take it in to get cleaned, there are also some cheaper methods that may take a little more work on your part, but will save you some money.
There are two substances that work great for removing odours; baking soda and charcoal. Either one should work as the smell will get absorbed into the substance you’ve chosen. Once you’ve left either the baking soda or charcoal out for a few days, the smell should be gone and you can vacuum up the mess you’ve created.
If you have a smoky smell in your vehicle, consider opening the hood and spraying a deodorizer through the intake valve. This should get the smoke out of your vehicle’s system and hopefully remove the bad odour completely.
Clearly, if you smell something like gas in your vehicle you should get it checked out by a professional. Your car can catch on fire if there’s a gas leak so don’t try and fix that problem yourself or anything else that could be dangerous.
