Locking Your Keys in the Car
One of the most frustrating things can be locking your keys in your vehicle. Although you may assume that it will never happen to you, you can never be too sure. Here are some tips if you accidentally lock your keys in your car.
The first thing you should do is call roadside assistance. Hopefully you have this number in your phone already as you can clearly cannot look into your vehicle to find it. If it is in your phone, call them and they should be able to allow you to get into your car.
If you’re out of free options, you should consider calling a tow truck. If you don’t have the number of a local tow truck you can use 411 or look it up on your smartphone. If you feel uncomfortable and/or unsafe where you are, you can also call 911 to help you out.
To avoid this problem altogether, it’s not a bad idea to have a second key made and always have it stored in your purse or wallet. Also, you can give an extra one to a friend or spouse who can hopefully help you out when you’re stranded.
