Tips for Properly Maintaining Your Engine

Maintaining Your Engine
Replacing your engine can be very expensive, so much so that many car owners simply purchase a new vehicle. However, there are some cheap things you can do to ensure your engine stays in good shape. Read ahead to find out.
One of the most important things you can do to keep your engine running smoothly is to make sure that the transmission is in good shape. You should change your transmission fluid often so that it doesn’t get too dirty or run at a low level.
The longer you wait to change your oil, the dirtier and thinner it becomes. This can cause an issue for your engine as it can’t do its job properly, leading to wear and tear.  Keep a log tracking when and where you got your oil changed.
It is also a good idea to have your air filter changed regularly. If any dirt or other debris continually gets into your engine, it can lead to serious problem down the line with either the pistons or cylinders. Having a clean air filter will help ensure that doesn’t happen.
