Neighbourhood Network Tree Planting – East Gwillimbury
Community Matters: Neighbourhood Network Tree Planting – East Gwillimbury
It was my pleasure to represent NewRoads Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC at the East Gwillimbury Neighbourhood Network 3rd Annual Tree Planting Event this past Saturday April 21, 2012.
High School students were planting 2,400 trees at six locations in Aurora, Newmarket and East Gwillimbury. The 3 Towns, the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and Neighbourhood Network coordinated the event.
As co-sponsors for 2012 of East Gwillimbury Neighbourhood Network program – it was fun and rewarding to participate that day. The mayor of East Gwillimbury Virginia Hackson as well as other counsellors, the president of the Lions Club and a few of their members and several students were on hand at Rogers Reservoir (which is just west of the driving range on Green Lane west of Leslie).
East Gwillimbury Tree Planting GroupLinda Potter the Neighbourhood Network Administrator was busy running from site to site ensuring all went smoothly. Susan Bryd who was appointed earlier this year as the liaison between the Town of East Gwillimbury and Neighbourhood Network was of course on hand and as always was such a positive inspiration.
I brought my 3 young daughters. It was inspiring for them to hear from the Mayor herself how important this project is to the local environment.
