New Towing Laws for GTA

New Towing Laws are in place for the GTA 400 Series Highways

In an effort to protect drivers from being overcharged if they need a tow truck, new towing rules are now in place for the GTA.
The four zones on the 400 series highways will have only a certain number of approved towing companies allowed to operate. This is a four year pilot project that aims to deal with the ongoing problems in the towing industry while also protecting drivers.
The new towing rules will ensure fair tow rates for drivers as the approved towing companies must provide a fee schedule, itemized invoices showing all costs and be willing to accept debit and credit cards.
If you’re in an accident in one of these four zones and you require emergency assistance the MTO recommends calling 911. Otherwise, you can call 511 and select Tow Zone Pilot to reach an authorized tow company.
