Newmarket Chamber of Commerce 2012 Large Business of the Year Award – NewRoads Automotive Group

October 17th, 2012 was a big night for all for us at The NewRoads Automotive Group.

Earlier this year we had been nominated for a business award through The Chamber of Commerce in Newmarket. What followed was a survey process involving written forms (thanks Kim) and live interviews by a selection committee. We were notified some months ago that we had been selected as a finalist in the category of “Large Business”. October 17th there was an awards presentation where I, along with Jim VanDusen, Jordan Tobin, Anthony Gilpin, Rino Rizzuto and Linda Madaleno enjoyed a great evening with 300 other business people from the Newmarket area. Much to our own astonishment we were the winners in our category!!

Once the evening was over I started thinking about how we had evolved to be such a presence within this community to deserve this sort of recognition. Clearly our efforts around our core value of “giving back” to our community has not gone unrecognized. And, as we look forward to 2013, our community focus along with our emphasis on our other core values of “Employee engagement, Customer enthusiasm and Performance” will be at the front of everything we do.

In my remarks last night (which were admittedly unprepared) I indicated to the group there that we were blessed with 130 associates at NewRoads who were and are responsible for making a difference in the lives of our customers each and every day. I was extremely proud to accept the award on your behalf.
