At NewRoads we pride ourselves in looking after our customers. We also have tremendous pride in helping our local community where we can.
 
Last weekend we held our 1st Annual NewRoads Big Brothers Big Sisters Charity Classic Car Show.  With a “poor weather call” looming over us leading up to the show – we were a little nervous.  While the weather call did impact the attendance somewhat we were very pleased to have just over 70 show vehicles attend.
 
The activities for the kids – all FREE – jumping castle, face painting and putting contest made the event even more relevant and fun for the entire family. The food vendors were also fantastic.
 
The vehicles that attended the show were spectacular!  We truly thank those that brought their vehicles, visited or volunteered.
 
About half way into the show, we did get hit with thunderstorms and significant wind and rainfall.  In a way it kind of added to the day in a bizarre way. It was great to see our NewRoads team, the volunteers from BBBS and show attendees “deal” with the rain. Everyone worked together. It was a site to see.  We were still able to present the Show Awards – trophies and plaques – albeit in the showroom rather than outside in the sun!
 
In the end when we combined the funds raised via Vehicle Registrations, Raffle Ticket sales and a direct donation from the NewRoads Automotive Group – we were able to raise just over $10,000 for BBBS.
 
BBBS is simply an amazing organization. As we see the gang and gun troubles in Toronto this year – many people claim part of the root issue relates to single parent homes where a good role model father is absent.
 
While I’m sure their are other factors and this is not a simple issue – I do know the work BBBS do is and can be a valuable part of the solution.
 
We look forward to a long standing relationship with BBBS.
