Sell Car Privately or to a Dealer?

Sell Car Privately or to a Dealer?
There are many factors that go into the decision to sell your used vehicle privately or to a dealership; your time availability, the condition of the vehicle and how much you value your time. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods so read ahead to decide what is best for you.
Not only will selling directly to a dealer save you considerable time, but it also gives you some added benefits that selling privately doesn’t allow for. Usually when you sell your vehicle to a dealership, you trade it for a newer car. This is typically a better deal for you than trying to sell and buy separately.
While selling privately gives you the option of making more money since a private buyer will be less informed, it is much more time consuming. Therefore, you have to ask yourself how much your time is worth. If you can only save a few hundred bucks selling privately, it is worth hours and hours devoted to trying to sell the vehicle?
If you want a fair, reliable deal, it is probably in your best interest to sell your used vehicle to a dealership. If you think you can make more selling privately, and are willing to spend the extra time doing it, than that is a better option for you.
