What is something unique we should know about you?
I left my parents home at the age of 15 years old after the London Knights used their #1 pick to draft me 5th overall in the 1986 Ontario Hockey League draft. (OHL) The first person I met at the rink was Brendon Shanahan the new captain of the Knights. (We all know what kind of NHL career Brendan Shanahan had: 3 time Stanley Cup winner, Canada Cup winner, NHL 50 goal scorer, hall of famer and now the current president of the Toronto Maple Leafs.) Brendan took me under his wing that year and made sure as a 15 year old with no parents around that I didn't get lost in the London night life.
Bonus Fun Fact:
When I retired at 30 years old, not knowing what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I started running local hockey schools in Newmarket and Aurora at the same time I wrote a book called " Protecting your son from the business side of Professional Hockey." After hockey schools ended each week, I would speak to the parents regarding how to protect their prospects in their journeys towards a possible career in the NHL. The book was based on my experience during my route to the NHL. I wanted to help future hokey families navigate the business side of professional hockey. The book turned into a blog, and the cool thing is that 17,000 people have read this blog. I hope I've helped their families in some way.

How did you get into the car business?
In 2000 after retiring from hockey, I met a guy who was playing hockey at the same time I was and we became friends right away. One thing lead to another that day and he was able to get me a job at MacIver Dodge Jeep selling Used Vehicles. (MacIver Dodge Jeep is now NewRoads Chrysler).
What motivated you to join NewRoads?
After working all around in the automotive world since 2000 - a few years ago I ran into my old friend who first got me into the car business. He told me about about NewRoads and what he said that day really hit home with me. Life is all about balance & NewRoads was the place that I could work and achieve that!
How do you spend your time outside of NewRoads ?
I really love Musky fishing! Over the last year I built a website to celebrate my passion of fishing.
