Stuff A Truck
I get by with a little help from my friends at NewRoads…
Many of you have the privilege of wandering the pathways of the Aurora Town Park on a lovely sunny Saturday. You can shop from the booths of talented artisans, to choosing that perfect item from the farm booths for the special dinner or BBQ. All the while, children are enjoying the children’s crafts and activities available to them with help from our wonderful volunteers.
You must ensure you are all well fueled by any of the assorted tasty sandwiches, crepes, pancakes, scones, and cookies all lovingly prepared before your eyes, and washed down by the local roasted delicious coffee available!
It could be a rainy day, but the trip to the market must be made to ensure you have your fridge stocked with the fresh local/Ontario foods available to you. Still, a very enjoyable relaxing morning for sure.
But the morning, for some, are not as leisurely or relaxing. Aurora, as found in every community, town, city around Canada, has many families that suffer from hunger. NewRoads is dedicated to caring for our community and are very pleased to support the Aurora Food pantry.
NewRoads Mazda kicked off the stuff a truck on September 1 with the Aurora Farmers Market in support of the Aurora Food Pantry. Mayor Tom Mrakas, Aurora Farmers Market Board and the Aurora Food Pantry Board were on hand for the kick off.
Part way through the adventure Aurora Toyota joined in and together the two stores raised $600 in cash and grocery gift cards and over 1000 pounds of food.
This is our second time support this incredible cause and we look forward to doing it again next year.
You can support your local food pantry by contacting them to see what their immediate needs are.
