Let’s face it: the classic “dinner and a movie,” while a safe option, has gotten a bit stale. Why not step outside the box this year and plan an evening your loved one is sure to remember forever? Whether you want your Valentine’s Day to be filled with romance, adventure or just plain fun, here are five ideas for dates that are sure to be unforgettable.
Go Skating
There is no shortage of beautiful outdoor rinks in the GTA to take your date to for a skate on Feburary 14th. Some popular and picturesque ice destinations include Mill Pond and the Richmond Green Skate Trail in Richmond Hill as well as the Riverwalk Commons in Newmarket, which are all lighted and have covered change areas. Build a Fort
Do you and your sweetheart want to spend Valentine’s Day in the warm confines of your living room? Start pulling the cushions off of your couch, because it’s time to build a fort. Why splurge on the boring prix fixe menus imposed by many restaurants on Valentine’s Day when you can make a romantic meal in your own kitchen with your date? It is the perfect opportunity to light some candles on your dining room table and have fun trying out a variety of new recipes together in the privacy of your own home.
Play Tourist in your Own City
Toronto is one of the top travel destinations in the entire world, and it is home to endless attractions. On February 14th, spend the day and/or night exploring The 6ix with your valentine.
